Meet Peace

Peace's Story

Peace has three brothers and loves to run around and play with them. She is only five years old and has already had malaria over 10 times.

Peace is a strong little girl but malaria makes children weaker and weaker. The only way to keep her safe is to give her a mosquito net.

In November we did just that! Over 400 children like her also received their own net for the very first time.

OUR TEAM WILL MEET PEACE IN OCTOBER.. HOW WILL THEY DO IT?

Top Bananas Travel Blog............................                            28/01/10

Hi Guys, as you might have read on my last update, I was getting sponsored to run in the international friendship run in New York at the end of October, this was really fantastic and my friends and family pulled out all the stops to sponsor me. The money will go towards my flight and some to take out to Uganda for the children. I am also going to run a Church car wash which my family are going to help me with, should be fun and hopefully it'll be sunny!! I also have taken on a regular cleaning job at my school which is good pay but extremely boring!! so fundraising is going well so far! thanks for all your support! Megan (looking very smart on the right).

Emily says, "I am doing a cake sale at church with my sister." Beth says, "I am happy to join in with fundraising by helping my sister run a cake sale. I'm not sure what else I can do, so any ideas.....?"

Jake is getting ready for a 21 mile sponsored walk. He says, "I am doing it with friends and family and hoping to raise round the £10,000 park for Helping Hands. It is going to take a lot of work and practise walks to make this happen. The event is taking place 3rd April 2010."

Ellie says... To start of with I have been cleaning at school and a paper round in my village. I am also selling cakes at my church and giving the cake money to Helping Hands for the children. Barney and me are thinking of sponsored events to do, maybe in the summer (not confirmed!!)
