Megan here... this page is all about our different lives. Here is a story about a seven year girl in Uganda whose name is Prossy...
When Debbie first met Prossy four years ago she was like a skeleton. Her Mum and Dad had both died from a disease called AIDS and she looked like she was going to die too.

Facts invisible banana

Prossy lived in a hut with her Jaja (Granny). It had a mud floor, no windows or beds and no water or toilets. The Granny did not want to care for Prossy as she thought she was just going to die soon.

Debbie and her friends wanted to give a helping hand (that's why they called the charity that!) They got medicine for Prossy, built her a bed and gave her a mosquito net. This showed the Granny that things could get better. Now Prossy is growing up healthier... she does have the same disease her parents had but the medicine keeps her alive.

Here are some thoughts from Romario and Rosie from Cumnor when they saw Prossy's school assembly:

baby listens in assembly too

The children are so respectful and have to sit so quietly. It is amazing how they do not moan or jiggle around as they sit so close to each other (Rosie).

The children, and the babies(!), learn in places with very dusty floors and little light (Romario).
